Toon Walleyn masters the art of turning a unique image into a beautiful photo. He is a craftsman with a passion for style. His heart for the artistic is expressed when he captures his love for desolate buildings and abandoned buildings in black and white photos, but he also expresses his expertise when people knock on his door for a wedding, a communion, studio work , photographing couples, their babies and children and even BVs and events.
The young resident of Lissewegen knew from an early age that photography would become his fortress. That is why Toon Walleyn went to the Technical Institute Heilige Familie in his hometown of Bruges to follow Publicity and Illustration. After his secondary education he went to Ghent. There he studied Visual Arts at Sint-Lucas. In 2010 Toon Walleyn started working for the clothing company Bronson & Four Roses in De Haan. There he made photo reports and was responsible for the digital design of the communication. Two years later, the ambitious twenty-something decided to stand on his own two feet. In the heart of the picturesque village of Lissewege, he opens his own gallery: Fotoon, a logical combination of Foto and Toon. Initially Toon Walleyn exhibits his own work. Gradually, he also offers a forum to other artists. In addition, Toon Walleyn presents a special and unique Concept in Gallery Fotoon in Lissewege. On a weekly or monthly basis, he rents out floating, but equally good standing panels in his gallery to artists at democratic prices. In this way artists can hang their very best works in Gallery Fotoon. Following the same principle, sculptors can also place sculptures in his gallery, hoping to find an audience for them.
