De Achterste and Wildertse Duintjes is a nature reserve near the village of Wildert, which is part of the municipality of Essen in Antwerp. It is managed by the Agency for Nature and Forest. Originally, it was a heath and drifting sand area, which was planted with conifers after World War II. 60 hectares of the land constitutes the current nature reserve. It is a hilly forest with remnants of heath. In the early 21st century, it is gradually being transformed into a more natural deciduous forest.
