In the past, before the Pont de Cordemois was built, Bouillon residents and tourists crossed the Semois at the Poulie ford by flat-bottomed boat.
The Pont de la Poulie , also called the Pont de Cordemois, was built in 1930.
In front of the bridge there is a building, the old sentry post "La Poulie", which was later used as the "maison du passeur" : the watch house of the skipper who made the crossing.
The boat is a gift from the 'Passeurs de Chiny'.
