Zoutleeuw simply breathes history. The Grote Markt of Zoutleeuw is a gem, the Gothic town hall is the starting place of this walk. After 100 meters we exchange the Grote Markt for the city park of Zoutleeuw. We walk along a beautiful piece of nature and some nice toys for the children. When we leave the city park behind us, we take some field roads surrounded by fruit orchards towards the Ossenwegenstraat. Once there we are 1 km far. We follow the Ossenwegenstraat for 250 meters, turn right and then walk via a field road into domain Het Vinne. Via boardwalks 'on the water' we walk around the inland lake with a distance of 3 km. We get to see a lot of nature, bird huts and picnic areas. When we are around and have done a total of 4.5km we arrive at the main entrance of the domain. There is a lot to do here: watchtower, playground, a Sensory Experience Trail, an Art Trail and natural attractions such as an insect hotel, bee village and herb garden. Plenty of choice and ideal for children. Once we have seen all this, we continue the walk. At 5.75 km we come across the Kleine Gete. A Belgian river that forms the Gete after confluence with the Great Gete. We walk across the river and arrive at the Vloedgracht, where we are 6 km far. This is an artificially constructed moat to drain fields and meadows. Along the Vloedgracht we walk 2 km further, back towards the center of Zoutleeuw. We arrive in the center at 8 km. In the center we cross the Kleine Gete again. After 8.5 km of walking we arrive at the Grote Markt of Zoutleeuw. The Vinnepad is a very varied walk and brings together history, nature and entertainment.
