The statue of the Sacré-Cœur is an image of Jesus Christ overlooking the district of Assent. The statue stands on the ridge of the Prinsenbos.
If you drive from Diest towards Leuven on the Staatsbaan, you will see the statue on your right. If you drive from Leuven to Diest on the Staatsbaan, the statue is, of course, on your left.
The inhabitants of Assent placed this statue as a sort of act of thanksgiving, because during an intense bombing raid in World War II, the bombs did not fall on Assent but on the surrounding fields.
