Located on the border between Famenne and Condroz, the village of Somal stretches north-south on either side of the Eau de Somme valley. It is characterized by the presence of an important castle farm and the Sant Roc Chapel , classified as a monument and site.
Masbourg built the current complex from the 16th-century fortified manor house. The buildings are grouped around a rectangular courtyard . To the left of the entrance is a traditional-style mansion whose masonry shows the marks of numerous work campaigns. The manor castle is surrounded by a sturdy wall , supported by the manor house to the south and bounded by a square corner tower to the north. In the middle, a semi- circular portal opens up the complex. The property has recently been renovated and converted into living and reception areas. On this occasion , the environment and the garden were designed.
The whole is part of the protected heritage.
