In 1900, Father Pierre Descamps and 15 boys of humble origins settled in the Château de Bure, the former summer residence of the Benedictine abbots of Saint-Hubert , confiscated and sold in 1794 by the French revolutionaries as national property. They were followers of the Augustinians of the Assumption.
The building was used as a school. On January 29 , 1918, a fire destroyed most of it. A chapel wing was built in 1936. In 1938 a fire broke out in the sacristy.
By October 1938, reconstruction was sufficiently advanced for classes to resume. It has to some extent respected the style of the old building , but despite everything , not much remains of the old castle. The classic stone facade of a large unit facing the courtyard and the monumental stairwell in the central wing were lost. Only a tower on the village side, the porch and the farmhouse remain after the two fires that destroyed it 20 years apart.
