Since 2022, there have been three climbing dolls on the facade of the School of Arts, designed by Jean-Yves Bonnaudet and Bruno Magda.
The two artists, former students and laureates of the School of Arts, have made colorful characters almost 2 meters high from steel plates. By climbing the walls of the School of Arts, they illustrate the sometimes circuitous paths that can be taken to access culture. Culture is not always accessible through the big gate . Through their behavior and their disrespect for conventions, the three puppets symbolize the confrontation between the creations of the past and the irreverence of contemporary creation.
This new creation completes the series of contemporary works selected to highlight the Tournai design route ("parcours design de Tournai") and enhance the tourist appeal of the city center.
