Boekenhuis Theoria

At Casinoplein, you'll find the most beautiful bookstore in the country in a historic building that has had various functions: first an elementary school and later even a casino. But since 2017, it has housed Boekenhuis Theoria.

Upon entering, you are greeted by Miffy and Tintin. You can, of course, find well-known titles and hidden gems here, but there is so much more. In this bookstore, you can enjoy coffee, tea, cake, and cookies while reading, letting yourself get completely lost in the world of literature. In good weather, you can relax on the terrace.

Art in Boekenhuis Theoria

• Inside the bookstore, you can see beautiful, unique murals by Antonietta Deluca. Come and search for the ladybugs, bees, birds, and butterflies. 
• There is also a colorful mural on the back wall of the building (accessible on foot and by bike via the parking lot on Koning Albertstraat 66). 

Fun fact: in 2023, the bookstore was included in "150 bookstores you need to visit before you die" by American author Elizabeth Stamp. As if there weren't already enough reasons to visit this top location.
