This monument in honor of the accession to the throne of King Albert I and Queen Elizabeth is located in the Parc Docteur Louis Thiry.
It is an assembly of large blocks of different types of stone found in the municipality, with two bronze bas-reliefs representing King Albert and Queen Elisabeth and an intaglio plate.
A stone engraved in the cavity reads:
A LLMM
ALBERT and ELISABETH
THE MUNICIPALITY OF AYWAILLE
JULY 31, 1910
This monument was inaugurated on July 31, 1910, just 7 months after King Albert the 1st took the oath of office , making it the oldest monument in the Aywaille park.
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Liberation and the Open Monument Days 2019, the monument was completely renovated and the plants that adorn it have been beautifully renovated.
