Horse sculpture - Eupen

The fibreglass sculpture by the artist from Membach, which was created in 2005 for the "Horse Parade" in the Jubelpark in Brussels, is a visual enrichment of the Bergviertel.

The mountain district in Eupen was visually upgraded in 2005 with the installation of a sculpture painted by the artist Romain Van Wissem .

The fiberglass sculpture was created by the artist from Membach on the occasion of the celebration of the 175th anniversary in 2005 for an exhibition entitled "Horse Parade" in the Jubelpark in Brussels .

In his speech, cultural councillor Philipp Hunger of Eupen emphasised the commitment of former butcher and horse lover Ludwig Dohm to the project. The 76-year-old local resident came up with the idea to erect the sculpture.

"Our mountain district has always had something to do with agriculture in the narrowest sense of the word. Horses have always been on the mountain , through the forge and the carriage making. I have always been a 'horse man' myself and that drives you somewhere - and above all I have always been a lover of Ardennes horses; I can't see enough of them," explains Ludwig Dohm, who was also carnival prince in 1975.
