In the Heidberg Park there is an unknown work of art with the inscription "PANTA PEI" - " Alles Fliesst " (translated: "Everything flows") - " Heraklit ".
The artwork consists of a pump from which water flows into a basin that then overflows into successive basins.
Heraclitus was a pre-Socratic philosopher who liked to sharply criticize other philosophers of his time.
" Everything flows and nothing remains. There is only eternal becoming and change" is his theory of flow.
He stated that everything ultimately formed a unity , but that it came about dialectically thanks to the principle of struggle. Observed change in the world came from the transformation of elements, with fire as the primordial substance . Thus everything was always in motion and therefore becoming. Hence the statement: 'Everything flows'. However, nothing should exceed the appropriate measure. According to Heraclitus, everything and everyone had to know their place in the cosmos. For man, this was the path to peace.
