Large Gravel

At the top of the square stands the Our Lady of Ter Zavel Church with some trees and benches around it. The rest of the Zavel is an open-air parking lot lined with planes.

Calmness is not only about decibels. Visual tranquility also contributes to a pleasant feeling. Despite the prestigious allure of the buildings surrounding it, the Grote Zavel looks very messy as a square full of cars. Up to eye level, all perspective has disappeared. Pedestrians can hardly experience the square as a whole because they are banished to the sidewalks occupied by terraces. Anyone who wants to get to the middle of the square must cross a street each time. Therefore, we are looking for other squares that provide a better sense of calm.
