The oil horse mill in Lille is better known as the 'Slagmolen'. It processes 'slor seed' into 'smout', frying oil for smoutebollen and new potatoes. This mill was already mentioned in 1465. A horse mill is a mill powered by a horse. Since 1986, it has been producing smout, slor seed, rapeseed, and it is processed into smout, frying oil for smoutebollen and new potatoes.
It operates every last Sunday of May until September from 1 PM to 6 PM, or by appointment.
