Description by the author

Starting at the church of Moulin du Ruy, the route immediately goes uphill for several kilometres .

After about 4 km , pay attention to follow the smaller forest path for a few dozen meters instead of the wide country road in a sharp bend to the right. In this way we arrive at the lookout tower 'belvédère Thiry' where the chairlift also arrives. A beautiful view is the reward for some tough climbing to get there.

We do not take the winding and steep zigzagging forest path down but choose the wider country road that takes us to the station of Coo . This can also be a good starting point for those who want to take public transport .

Along the Amblève we come to the highest waterfalls of Belgium in Coo . A short walk, a terrace to continue the way to La Gleize. This time we choose not to follow the left bank of the Amblève along De Venne, but go on the right bank along the parking of PlopsaCoo via the Fontaine aux loups with wonderful views of the Amblève to the museum Decembre 44 in La Gleize.

From La Gleize the road descends into the Roannay valley. We follow this magnificent valley to the starting point.
