Round walk along low-traffic roads

The start is at Heiveldstraat in Sint-Amandsberg (bus stop of line 17 Westveld - Oude Bareel). The starting point is at the municipal library with a small playground.

You walk along various shortcuts of the social housing neighborhood.

After crossing the Alfons Braeckmanlaan, in the Ledestraat on one side, you have buildings, and on the other side, a very open view.

You turn left from Ledestraat into Kwadenplasstraat. Just over 100m further, you pass the Wijveld. This is a biological farm. A bit further down Kwadenplasstraat, the road transforms into a beautiful castle driveway of the Notax estate. Only cyclists and pedestrians are allowed in this driveway.

At the next split (where we go straight and not to the right), the open-air chapel Bergenkruis can be seen. A nice place with many benches to rest for a while. Once out of the Castle Drive, you continue straight ahead on the paved road. On one side are villas, while on the other side, you have a view of meadows and patches of greenery. After about 500m, you turn left through the gate of Haeseveld. You pass the brewery with a very nice terrace. You arrive at the railway line. Cross the tracks and follow Beelbroekstraat for 150m. Do not take the first road on the left, but walk another 50m into a walking shortcut. At the end of the shortcut, you cross the street and walk straight across the grass square. On the other side of this small park is a path marked with a wooden pole. You do not follow this path but take a shortcut to the right just before the concrete path. You cross back over a residential street and continue along the footpath.

At the next street, it's a quick turn to the right and then after 50m turn left into the Achtenkouterstraat. This narrow street is divided in the middle. Thus, hardly any cars drive here. You follow this paved path until you see woods on the left. There, you take the narrow forest path. From the forest, you take the path to the left. You will then walk in a beautiful open area. At a T-junction, take the path to the left. After some bends, you will come out at Beelbroekstraat. You cross this street (short right/left movement) and take the route through the grass.

At the street, you walk under the railway tunnel and immediately turn right along a dirt road parallel to the track. Continue following the dirt road until you reach Schuurstraat. There, you must turn left and after a small 100m turn right into Gustaaf Carelshof. You continue following this narrow street until you reach villa Anamma. There you can enjoy a nice meal or drink. Turn left and after 150m, you will return to Heiveldstraat, the starting point of the walk.
