Mont - Amel - Mont

This High Fens ride starts at the cross in the small hamlet of Mont, located about 6 km north of Malmedy. We descend to Malmedy N68 (Eupen-Malmedy), which unfortunately is not very car-free, so we need to pay a bit of sporty attention. In Malmedy, we pedal through the kiosk and a small part of the center to the Vennbahn. This magnificent bike path takes us a little past Waimes where we take a sharp turn to the right towards Sankt Vith. Following the Vennbahn L 42, we ride just before Montenau. Enjoying beautiful views, we then head towards Amel.

The municipality of Amel is located on one of the most beautiful sections of the RAVeL cycling and walking paths, between St. Vith and Waimes. Those who take this route can enjoy a stunning view, tranquility, fresh air, and a gentle incline of the road (2 - 3 %). From Ommerscheid to Wolfsbusch, there is a woodland walking area. One finds themselves in the unique nature park of the High Fens - Eifel. The art and forest learning trail in Heppenbach teaches visitors about the beauty and value of the fauna and flora in this region.

From Amel, we then head to Bütgenbach with its beautiful church and small park. Next, we roll through Nidrum to Xhoffraix where, at Rue Adam, Chez Remy, one can gather to discuss the beautiful yet challenging ride. An ideal ride for E-bikers and experienced cyclists with gravel, mountain bikes, or racing bikes.
