The Leuven Abbeys - 30 km.

The bike ride departs and also returns to the train station of Leuven, located to the east of the city. Car drivers can park for a fee in the underground parking garage under the station. You can also easily reach the station of Leuven by De Lijn.

It is a hilly bike ride with some elevation changes, the climb of the Pellenberg (60 m higher), and towards the end the steep climb to the Keizersberg Abbey (30 m higher) may pose a problem (see the elevation profile).

The bike ride first goes past the Abbey of Park and around its fishing ponds, where you need to ride over unpaved sections for a bit. Next, you ride along the Leuven business park and the Brabanthal. Continuing through the district of Kessel-Lo and past the Gashuisbos, you arrive at the Abbey of Vlierbeek beautifully situated in greenery.

On the way, there might be a chance to take a break or have a drink in the brown café In den Rozenkrans located near the Vlierbeek Abbey.

Then, cycle a bit further around the Provincial Domain of Kessel-Lo, the green lung of Leuven.

To then tackle the tough final climb to the Abbey of Keizersberg. And from this high position, you will be rewarded, near the Mary statue, with a beautiful view over the Leuven agglomeration.

After the descent from the Keizersberg, you are in the center of Leuven, first passing the abbey complex of the Geertrui Abbey, followed by the St. Peter's Church right next to the stately town hall of Leuven.
From there, you just need to ride down the Bontgenotenlaan, the straight shopping street of Leuven, until you reach the Leuven station.
