Extra info: If you hear the sound of a cow/bull near a water body, it may be the bullfrog you are hearing, about 1.5 km along the route. In the nature reserve at the Straalmolen, infertile bullfrog tadpoles are being bred to release them and attempt to halt the population of the bullfrogs. (VRT news 24/06/2022)

Due to work in the Griesbroek nature reserve, the path between junction 83 and junction 81 is closed (likely until the end of October 2022). There are also roadworks in the surrounding streets, causing signposts with junctions to be temporarily removed. The GPS route (or the printout) is still walkable. Griesbroek is a varied landscape of the Grote Nete valley and through the area of the Heiloop. A boardwalk takes us over a marshy area, with narrow winding paths through tall reeds and field edges among coniferous forests and swampy woodlands. At the Straalmolen (the first water mill since 1374), we will climb the observation tower with a view of the water landscape, as well as a viewing hide a little further along the route. We park at/under the bridge near inn 't Rustpunt, where junction 4 is, currently reachable via Langeberg (for the GPS) or by following the detour signs from 'Herberg 't Rustpunt' (300 meters detour).
