Heverleebos has always been a forest since the last ice age with an area of 609 ha and checkerboard shape. The valley of the Vaalbeek is broadly the border with the larger Meerdaal forest. It has a diversity of paths : straight lanes, hollow roads, winding paths (reserved for hikers). In this period beautiful autumn colors and rustling leaves on the ground for a route completely in the forest. The route can be followed via junctions (info between knp 603 and knp 117 there is new knp 135 to follow). The route starts between wknp 14 and wknp 13 but we cross through the forest via a path (in the extension of the parking of the paddle fields) and then come on the route to the left towards wkp 12. Parking is possible at the sports complex of OH Leuven, Waversebaan at house number 125 and during the weekdays you can drive up to the paddle areas (over the traffic inhibitors) and park on the left. For those who come by camper there is a camper place where you can stay overnight for two days, at the end of the parking on the right. You can combine this walk with the walk 'Minnebron aan het Zoet Water' and connect to wkp 15 and then you have 13 km.
