Near the castle, a road leads us to the heights of the village of Harzé. At the very top, the wildflowers are caressed by a warm wind. From the light on the meadows, we move to the dimness of the beautiful forests of Saint-Roch, adorned with soft spring green.
In the forest, the Ardennes begin. We descend to La Levée: a hamlet with a chapel and four houses, splendid in their isolation. When we walk past the Pouhon, we can discover the beautiful Sainte-Anne chapel to the right after 1 kilometer, nestled in the greenery. It was probably built in the 16th century. At that time, iron activity was widespread in this region, and numerous iron forges and furnaces were located along streams and rivers. The energy from the hydraulic wheels powered the bellows, which in turn stoked the fires of the furnaces. Due to the development of these activities, the population around Harzé had increased. Since a place of worship was desired on-site, a chapel was built near the furnaces.
The route continues to rise. Directly ahead of us begins Ernonheid, a windy hillside village. In a hollow, better protected from the elements, we arrive at the hamlet of Trou de Bosson. At the top of the hill, Paradis appears, a beautiful name for a village.
