Geological walking trail

The geological walk is an 11 km long route through successive layers of limestone and sandstone, which are typical of the Condroz. About twenty information panels provide explanations about the various natural environments and landscapes you walk through (formation of rocks, karst phenomena, adaptation of vegetation to different soil types, evolution of the landscape, redevelopment of former industrial sites into protected areas for bats, ...). The walk is a chain of different areas where nature lovers will feel completely at home: the banks of the Ourthe, the former quarries of Géromont, the Centre de la Chauve-Souris (bat center), the Geological Plate, the nature reserve Sablière de l'Arbois, the Cave of Comblain, the open-air museum with sculptures, the St. Martin's Tower, and the Musée du Pays d'Ourthe-Amblève.
