The walk starts at the intersection of Route de Spa and Monthouet, a typical Ardennes hamlet. What stands out during this route is the contrast between forest and wetland landscape. Initially, the path winds through deciduous forests (oak, beech, birch...) and plantations of coniferous trees. Along the way, small streams flow everywhere, and for a few hundred meters, the path follows the winding course of the Chefna stream, which descends to the Amblève. The plateaus on top of the hills offer a completely different view. There, hikers can enjoy the bogs, an exceptional natural environment consisting of small marshy areas, wet and dry heaths, which create a very specific habitat for rare and special species of fauna and flora.
