This walk starts at the beautiful castle farm of Macon built in 1616. Via “la Couture” the road climbs up to the top of Imbrechies with the castle and the coal forest. From this fantastic viewpoint, you can see a dozen Belgian and French bell towers. The Lieutenant Cook War Museum of '40-'44 is nearby. Next, you enter the valley where the Grote Helpe springs and pass by three ponds until you reach the former forge of Imbrechies with the accompanying blast furnace. You are now back in the village of Macon with its many niches, the place du Wicher, and the stately lime trees.
