Fauvillers: Treasure of the Misbour

We did this well-marked hike on 17-06-2023

Parking is available in the spacious car park of the Tourist Office on Rue de la Misbour. In the car park you are already entitled to a beautiful view. This open plain in the distance, this is where the walk goes. But first go down to the valley of La Basseille. A stream with little water when we did this walk. However, the bed suggests that a lot of water flows through it when it rains.

The route is very well suited as a summer walk. For the most part, it crosses the Natural Park Haute-Sûre Forêt d'Anlier. There are three sections of regional road, the longest of which is 700 m. After this road, we plunge back into the forest to pass in front of the ruins of the old Misbour church .

You stay in the forest until you reach again an open plain at the level of the stream La Basseille where you can still enjoy beautiful views of the surroundings before returning to the starting point. But just a passage through "Le Pachis". In the center of the village of Fauvillers is "Le pâchis", a beautiful green space surrounded by beautiful century-old lime trees and three rare elms.

And oh yes, there is also an informative monument with a statue that points the direction of the road to The Patton.

The beautiful church is also worth a visit. We were lucky, the door was loose.
