A circular walk of 6km offered and marked by the Walking Club de Vreugdestappers VZW during the Spring Walks in Moorsel on 19/03/2023.

The narrow footpath 24 leads us to Stonemanor, a convenience store with English specialties. On the other side, we have a view of the Biesthof. We continue further to the Prinsendreef, residence of the family de Merode, a princely lineage that played a part in the founding of Belgium in 1830. The castle also had an ice cellar, located on the other side of the road – with a bench. The small detour uphill is worth it.
We leave the Prinsendreef towards the pond from which ice was cut in winter for the ice cellar. We find ourselves in the Plantsoenbos.
Via footpath 24 we reach the pond of the Oude Abdij. Here the "Charter of Cortenbergh" was issued in 1302. The first form of democracy for the common citizen.
We leave the park via the Colomba site, a center for sports and recreation.
Neighborhood road 10 brings us back into the Plantsoenbos via a hilly forest path. Along the way, we encounter two of the three chapels that the forest contains. The loop continues via a gravel road to Lodderhoekstraat – with the impressive villa de la Kethulle, now owned by the Colruyt family – leading to the parish hall.

An alternating walk with a few nice obstacles in a mainly wooded area. A few ponds along the way complete the walk.
