The starting point on the station square sets you on your way. Soon you cross the Gete and dive past the motte hill and water mill into the Aronst Hoek nature reserve. It is a beautiful flood plain where nature reigns in the form of reed beds, sedge fields and willow groves. In the neighboring village of Rummen, you pass through the Warandebos, the last remnant of the magnificent castle estate of Arnold van Rummen, the last Count of Loon. Via Terlenen castle farm - rebuilt in 1820 after being destroyed - you get to see St. Paul's Church. The oldest Ginkgo biloba (or Japanese walnut tree) in Europe stands there in the garden of the presbytery.
