Depart at the Moedermeule in Gelrode near Aarschot for a walk through the land of ironstone. You climb typical Hageland witness hills such as the Eikelberg in Gelrode and the Wijngaardberg in Wezemaal. Discover on both hills the traces of quarries where iron sandstone was mined. These stones were used in the construction of churches, presbyteries and other important buildings.
