Been quiet for a while, but certainly not idle! Just finding the time to neatly present everything from our hiking trips... Among the beautiful hikes we took last summer, this hike definitely belongs on the list of adventurous and challenging trips.

There are several beautiful marked hiking routes such as the stunning GR routes along the Lesse, including 'GR17 - La Lesse et la Lomme par les GR', 'GR126 - Membre-Sur-Semois - Brussegem' and its famous train walker between Anseremme, (Gendron) and Houyet that we have already taken and can certainly recommend.

However, these GRs avoid some tough sections and beautiful rock masses that we attempt to explore through this hike. A gorge on our path that belongs to the most remarkable ravines of Wallonia is Ravin Du Colébi. Mostly closed to the public, but through some nice paths along this gorge, we can still ascertain the ruggedness of this gorge.

Just like our hiking route - Freÿr and the Maas, we cross the largest climbing mass in Belgium, to then follow an alternative path to Anseremme.

Once through the village center of Anseremme, we take the little bridge where we see the Lesse merging into the Maas to follow a nice path to the next rock mass - la Naussé. Here too, we take alternative paths than the marked GR route, to tackle some challenging trails that are somewhat reminiscent of alpine trails and do require some climbing work to get on top of this rock - Rocher Des Copères. From here we take the next climbing mass Pont-A-Lesse to cross the Lesse near the fairytale castle of Walzin.

We stay near the banks of the Lesse until we reach a railway bridge to cross the Lesse again, before starting the climb to the last rock mass on our path, namely 'Les Aiguilles de Chaleux'. A beautiful rock mass with the Roche à la Chandelle, where we seek some refreshment at the foot of this rock. We continue to follow the Lesse until we leave this beautiful Lesse valley through a side stream 'Ri de Vesse' and head towards the starting point or the village of Falmagne.
