't Paddegat

During this route, water is often very close. Not the seawater, as one would expect. The route only runs briefly parallel to the coast, and even then, one stays away from the seawater. However, you pass for kilometers between the Noordgeleed and the Vaart (Canal Ghent-Bruges-Ostend). You may also ride a piece along the Passendalevaart and cross the Noordede twice. The Duiveketezwin is also on your route. 't Paddegat is located in the vast area of the Vaart near Stalhille. Various birds feel at home there: partridge, oystercatcher, barn owl, kestrel, moorhen, wild duck?
't Paddegat is a so-called multifunctional land allocation. This means that three important aspects are considered: agriculture, nature, and gentle recreation. In the latter aspect, fishing is included alongside cycling and hiking.

Overall, a fairly safe route. However, one should be especially careful when crossing the busy Brugsesteenweg.
