Nature reserve het Broek-Arkenbos (7.35 km)

This marked short hike in the nature reserve Broek-Arkenbos is 7.35 km long and runs continuously along pleasant hiking trails at the edge, in, and along open areas in the water-rich forest area.
You can observe many waterfowl here, and the views in this forest area are excellent.
The hike (or short loop) is located just south of the Bloso Watersports Center Hazewinkel (http://www.bloso.be/centra/willebroek/Pages/Home.aspx), precisely in the triangle Blaasveld-Heindonk-Heffen between Willebroek and the Zennegat.

The GPX route starts at the building that has been closed for several years (with parking). However, you can also start at the outdoor parking lot to the left of the entrance of Blosodomain (Heindonk) or in Blaasveld at the parking lot at the intersection of Broekstraat-Fonteinstraat.

The entire loop offers plenty of benches to rest and is described as 'muddy' in some places. Although the loop leads through very water-rich areas in a clockwise direction, all paths are elevated and paved with dolomite or compacted gravel. At the watersports track, you briefly cross the adjacent asphalt strip twice.

Another special feature of this loop is that you pass by two chapels in the forest (St. Francis Xavier Chapel and the Chapel of Our Lady of Veertienbunders), as well as the centrally located Scheiyvaertshof and the beautiful building 't Fonteintje (where the GPX starts).

The entire loop is completely flat, except for a slight incline to the dike of the watersports track.

You can also complete this short loop by jogging.
