"The earlier conversion that took place here from marshland (where peat was repeatedly cut) to meadows proved unsuccessful. Around 1935, the municipal government therefore had fish ponds constructed.
Mute swans, geese and ducks find their niche there. Often the great egret, a white heron with yellow beak is on the appeal. From behind the viewing wall you have a chance of seeing a kingfisher. At low water levels of the large pond, black-headed gulls may nest. Along the way you pass a fish ladder, beautiful lanes and walk a bit along the canal.
Enjoy beautiful nature and silence on our Pond Trail.
Keep dogs on a leash, deer also need peace and quiet."
