Due to erosion and other natural phenomena, meters-high rock walls have formed along the Ourthe, of which the more than 80-meter-high Le Hérou is the most striking. From the parking lot at the observation tower of the former Hotel Belvédère in Nadrin (Houffalize) in the northeastern province of Luxembourg, the signposts quickly lead you over rocky forest paths to a point where you have a view over a hilly, densely forested valley, through which the Ourthe winds.
