The trail is very well marked with a blue flag featuring a white wave, and the paths are well maintained, especially in the Luxembourg part.
In my opinion, the trail and the path are not suitable for a beginner hiker. Your equipment, especially your shoes, must be adapted to the terrain and weather conditions. Along the Ourthe, the roads can vary from good to completely inaccessible depending on the weather and water levels. There is a detour provided via Nadrin for the times when one thinks that the route will be too difficult.
During our hike along the entire trail, we could not make use of the available campsites because they were still closed in early March. We had to camp out (out of necessity).
