The Itterbeek springs from the eastern side of the Kempen Plateau in Gruitrode. The first tributary of the Itterbeek is the Baatsbeek. This stream originates in the center of Neerglabbeek.
The nature association Limburgs Landschap vzw manages a large area of valuable hay meadows, spring and swamp forests here.
