Millen is a prime example of a typical Haspengouw farming village. A belt of high-stem orchards surrounded the village like a protective band in the 19th and 20th centuries. For the livestock, these orchards were ideal grazing places. Old hollow roads connect monumental square farms with the fields located higher up. In Millen, you can find more than 40 square farms, of which about 30 have since been given a different purpose. Such a compact core village surrounded by orchards and fields is characteristic of dry Haspengouw. The open landscape guarantees stunning panoramas.
