This walk was made during our Ardennes weekend in June 2025. We have already done many hikes around Le Herou and Nisramont. We now choose a circular walk along the Ourthe via Ollomont. Along the way, there are some challenges where we have to climb with a rope alongside a boulder, and also our favorite - climbing via a chain from the river to the Herou rocks - is on the agenda.

The hike starts from the parking lot at Rue du Hérou.

The walk is 8 kilometers, during which there is a steep climb between the 2km and 3km point, sometimes along a stream. We cross Ollomont and descend back to the Ourthe. After the 5km point, we have to regularly climb over boulders, and there are many tree roots. After the 5.5km point, there is a flat walk until the 6.5km point. Here, we have to climb steeply again, and there is also a boulder where a rope is available as a helper. After 7km, we climb up via a chain. Watch out! You pass by quickly here. At the top, you can rest on the rocks. Here, you have a beautiful view. After that, there is still a steep walk up to the parking lot.

We left at 11:15 and were back at the car by 15:30.
