The exhibitions titled "Safeguard," "Garden of Eden," and "Hidden Worlds" each tell a unique story, focusing on timeless themes that have defined the Begijnhof over the centuries: spirituality, rituals, slowness, silence, safety, community, strong women, and entrepreneurship. These core concepts remain relevant to this day and will continue to be important in the future. Children, youth, and adults have envisioned these themes in their own way through their artworks. The Urban Academy proudly showcases these creations in and around the Begijnhof in Bruges, establishing connections between significant locations such as the old Begijnhof garden behind the Minnewater hospital, the Bogarden School with its chapel and garden, and the Convent of the Redeemer Sisters. The entire neighborhood, from Sebrechtsstraat to Katelijnestraat, embodies the spirit of the Begijnhof. "We are all Begijn."
