Together with the Brakel forest and the Kluis forest, the Muziekbos forms the 'green trinity' of the Flemish Ardennes. According to historians, this beautiful forest does not owe its name to various tunes, but to the ancient Celtic word for swamp. Walking in the Muziekbos is always a recommendation, but especially from mid-April to mid-May, it is an almost magical experience: that's when the blooming forest hyacinths roll out their purple carpet.
