The Limburg Kempen offers a serene backdrop for this 6-kilometer walking route, where you can experience the tranquility of nature. You start at junction 191 and walk past the St. Gertrude Church, a place with a rich history dating back to the 9th century. Continue your way to the shrine of St. Gertrude in Laakdal, where you can pause for a moment and enjoy the spiritual atmosphere. The route takes you further to the Grote Laak, a brook that adorns the valleys of Laakdal and provides a home to diverse flora and fauna. Most paths are paved and well-maintained, allowing you to enjoy the nature around you without worry. Don’t forget to take a break and soak in the beauty of the surroundings.
