This walking route takes you through the green lungs of Tienen, where nature and history go hand in hand. You start at junction 233 and walk past the impressive three-leaved lemon tree, a tree that takes you back to the 19th century. The park of the Wittevrouwenklooster, with its monumental horse chestnut and yew pruning forms, offers a serene place to catch your breath. You continue your way to the Japanese Walnut Tree, one of the oldest ginkgos in Belgium, and the remnants of the park of the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwinstituut, where a pond invites you to take a break. The route ends along the Gete, a river that winds through Tienen. With a length of 5.8 kilometers and a medium level of difficulty, this is an ideal way to enjoy nature and momentarily lose yourself in the tranquility of the surroundings.
