This 13.6-kilometer walking route takes you through a serene natural environment where you can experience the tranquility and beauty of Flanders. Start your journey at junction 401 and enjoy the pollarded hornbeam, proudly standing in the protective hedge of single-stemmed hawthorn. Along the route, you will encounter the trimmed hawthorn hedge, which serves as a green enclosure along the agricultural road. Hof Ten Driesch, with its charming brick buildings from the 19th century, invites you to pause and admire the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekapel. The St. Peter and Paul Church in the center of Herne, with its imposing tower, is another highlight. Don't forget to take a look at the rising lime tree, which was once the chapel tree of a small roadside chapel. This route offers not only a physical challenge with 106 meters of elevation gain but also a refreshing experience in nature.
