During this relaxing walking route through the Bruges City Region, you will discover the rich history of Ver-Assebroek. You start at the impressive Parish Church of Our Lady Immaculate Conception, a neo-Gothic monument that takes you back to bygone times. As you continue your walk, you will pass the Ver-Assebroek Cemetery, where the poppies in summer pay tribute to the victims of World War I. Don’t forget to pause at the stained glass windows of the O.L.V. Immaculate Conception Church, which give you a glimpse into local religious art. This 4.2-kilometer loop not only offers a pleasant way to exercise but also allows you to enjoy the architectural beauty and the history that lingers in the air. So put on your hiking shoes and immerse yourself in the stories of this charming village.
