During this walking route through historic Kortrijk, you will get to know the city's rich history while strolling along the water. You start at the impressive Broeltorens, where the struggle for the Leie is still palpable. From there, you continue to the Groeninge Abbey, a serene spot that takes you back to the late 16th century and where you learn more about the Battle of the Golden Spurs. The Groeningekouter, where this historic battle took place, allows you to travel back in time for a moment. Don’t forget to admire the old warehouse, which offers a glimpse into Kortrijk's industrial development in the 19th century. With a length of 3.7 kilometers and an easy difficulty level, this loop route is perfect for a relaxing day walk.
