AzureStriking about the region between Kruishoutem and Oudenaarde are the exceptionally well-preserved village centers. While in the past fifty years the historical relationship between church, castle, rectory, town hall, village hostels, farms and country houses in Flanders has been lost at high speed, in Mullem, Lede and Wannegem you have little imagination to see the pastor between the castle, the farms and the simple country houses. This concentration of heritage relics, in combination with the vast coulter landscape and modern agricultural activity, makes this walk and the three other short walks from this network along the Rooigemsebeek so special.
