DESCRIPTION

This loop leads you through the municipalities of Peer and Bocholt. Peer is the Bruegel city. According to local tradition, painter Pieter Bruegel the Elder was born in Grote-Brogel, a borough of Peer.

A small part of this loop coincides with the Bruegel Cycle Route. That is why you will come across a painting by this grandmaster here. For more Bruegel paintings you can visit the Bruegel Museum in the center of Peer.

But Peer is more than just Bruegel. In the center you will also find the statue of Darco, the successful showjumper with which Ludo Philippaerts won 7th place at the Summer Olympics in 1992.

Along the way you will pass the rural Meeting Center De Bruegelhoeve with a riding school with 2 indoor arenas, an outdoor arena, men's trail, cafeteria, accommodation and stables. Here children can rent a pony and take a ride.
