The route has been adjusted and can be walked all year round as the two parts 'rest area' have been omitted. You can still follow the various colorful paths of Natuurpunt. (A new report in the magazine Natuur, summer 2024 issue). There is also a motorhome parking area in the parking lot.

Info: From October 2020 to August 2021, conservation measures will be carried out in the Schulenbroek area. Parts of the area will be closed for safety reasons. More information can be found at www.demerdelta.be

Some paths will be closed during the breeding season, from March 15 to June 15, and a rest area will be closed from January 1 to May 31 inclusive. The planked path is also temporarily closed due to 'poor condition', there is a small detour. During the rest and breeding period, you can take a walk on the Schans, an old defense wall that runs around the Schulenmeer.

Start at the pavilion of the Schulensmeer, Demerstraat 60, 3560 Linkhout.
A vast nature reserve, Schulenbroek, with beautiful hiking trails maintained by Natuurpunt.
We were fortunate enough to see three deer. You can also hike the suggested routes: Red hike (11 km); Green hike (4.6 km) for strollers and wheelchairs; Orange hike (7.7 km) or Blue hike (6 km).

I made a summary hike that connects all the beautiful paths. You can also skip a loop, so you can manage about 14 km.
