RAVeL Memory

Highly recommended: a RAVeL that leads to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and passes by the Mardasson Memorial and the exceptional Bastogne War Museum.

This RAVeL opens the doors to the most secret places in the Pays de Bastogne. We go into the city center and continue cycling. Along this green route, the gradients are quite low (just over 2.5%): the slope was calculated at the time to allow trains to overcome the relief between Wiltz and Bastogne. We follow the track of the old arrow train and pedal from station to station.

We cross tunnels under hills, follow the secret valley of the Wiltz and cross the river in front of ancient works of art.

This is how we discover landscapes that we would never have imagined! The route of the path to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg descends, but the way back presents us with a long and slow climb.

At the end of the route, the RAVeL takes us in front of the Mardasson Memorial and the Bastogne War Museum which pay tribute to the sacrifices of American soldiers and the suffering of the population during the Battle of the Bulge at the end of December 1944. The museum is also a passionate advocate for peace.
