Hiking Network: Kempen's Land Dunes
Terrain: Mostly unpaved paths, wear sturdy footwear.
Description: Between Geel-Bel and Meerhout, you will discover an amazing piece of Kempen: hectares of untouched land dunes. These are remnants of ancient sand dunes. Some rise several dozen meters high, while others are less easy to recognize. On the dry sand ridges, you will hike through extensive coniferous forests, beautiful heather fields, and wide sand drifts. Further towards the valley, slippery floodplain forests, moist meadows and hay meadows, swaying reed belts, and clear streams create the backdrop where you can wonderfully relax. In short: an adventurous setting for this forest and nature walk.
