This hike through the Kempen is characterized by its great diversity. Nature and culture lovers alike will find plenty to enjoy here. First, you walk through the beauty of the area around the Aa with the historical watermill of Tielen. After a section through varying woodland and agricultural areas, the village center of Gierle presents itself at its best as one of the best-preserved village centers in the Kempen. A bit beyond the windmill of Gierle, you walk towards Beerseheide. Here, you traverse a varied landscape, a mosaic of meadows, forests, small agricultural plots and paths, bordered by tall broadleaf trees. North of the E34, forest and heath once again dominate, but you can also experience the pressure of recreational use and housing development on this nature. A detour to the Kievits Venneken on the Zwartgoorheide is absolutely recommended. The moor is a paradise for water-loving plants and insects and invites the hiker to take a short pause. A bit further, you ascend the Konijnenberg, the highest dune of the Antwerp Kempen and the hallmark of the municipality of Vosselaar. The green lung of Turnhout is then very close. The Looy and the Stoktse Heide still show a lovely variety of different natural elements. On the way to the train station of Turnhout, there are still some charming spots waiting.
